SNAPWORTHY
Privacy Policy
Effective August 9, 2026
The short version
Snapworthy works without an account. We don't know who you are, we don't sell data, and we only handle what's needed to price your scans.
What we process
- Photos you scan. Sent to our server and to Anthropic's Claude API to identify the item. Per Anthropic's API terms, photos are not used to train their models. Scan photos are stored so your results and share links keep working.
- Scan results. The identification, value range, and marketplace listings behind each estimate are stored with the scan.
- An anonymous identifier. A random ID (no name, no email) ties your scans together for history and rate limiting.
- Usage analytics. Anonymous events (e.g. "scan completed") via PostHog, used to improve the app.
- Saved Wants (Snappy Finds). If you ask Snappy to watch for an item, we store your search, chosen condition, target price, and marketplace — tied only to the same anonymous ID — so we can check the market and notify you of matches. Wants also teach Snappy how prices and availability move over time. Delete any Want in the app at any time; if you enable notifications, your device's push token is stored until you turn them off.
- Snappy browser extension. The extension detects shopping pages entirely on your device. Nothing leaves your browser until you click "Check it" (or open the Snappy popup) — then the product's title, and on cart/checkout pages the visible text of that page, is sent to our server with the same kind of anonymous random ID so an AI model can identify the items you're buying and run the price search. Page text is processed transiently to answer that one request and is not stored. Saving a wish stores it like a Want above. The extension contacts only our own server, stores no browsing history, adds no tracking to pages, and its affiliate links appear only inside the panel you opened.
What we don't do
- No accounts, names, emails, or contacts are collected.
- No selling or renting data — to anyone, ever.
- No tracking across other apps or websites.
- No eBay user data — market listings shown are public information.
Sharing
If you share a scan, its public page (photo, item, value range) is visible to anyone with the link. Don't share what you'd rather keep private.
Deletion & contact
To have a scan or share link removed, or for anything else: [email protected].
